Meeting people's physical needs is priority #1 for Metrocrest Services here in the North Texas Metroplex and for Samaritan's Purse nationally and internationally. Food, clothing, safe shelter, utility bills, medical care... Absolutely the most critical ministry possible. But after the basics are handled there is the opportunity to minister and care for the soul. Despair can be crippling. A little light shining in the darkness, a little love shining in the gloom... That's where Bead Crazy Shannon wants to be with boots on the ground!
What can you do to help us with that tremendous opportunity? It's so easy, so small it could even be overlooked as insignificant but if it brings light and joy to at least one child or teen all of heaven smiles. A Little Love Goes a Long Way.
$10. That's all we are asking. That $10 goes to providing a hand-decorated treasure box filled with jewelry that belongs only to that child or teen. A jewelry box, a tiny treasure box, a place to secure something valuable to a child's heart. Maybe it will be the only gift that child or teen gets for Christmas this year. But it will come filled with love and hope and possibility and the understanding that whatever they choose to fill it with is valuable because they are valuable. What is important to them is important, period. They have been fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139). Let's show them that.
Donations for jewelry boxes are accepted now until December 7, 2024. Each box is lovingly decorated by amazing volunteers with inspirational messages and pictures and has handmade jewelry included inside. Boxes are prayed over with the intent that God's love and joy will be felt by each recipient and His blessings be poured out as water over a dry and thirsty soul.
